Notorious New York: On Nov 19 1986 Larry Davis shot six police officers from NYPD’s elite Emergency Service Unit attempting to apprehend him. Larry was suspected in the execution- style killings of four drug dealers in the Bronx’s, another murder during a robbery in Manhattan and two others in the Bronx.

The shoot out and Larry’s subsequent escape for the next seventeen days would lead to nationwide manhunt, charges of police corruption, racism, reckless policing by the NYPD and counter charges of racism after Larry was acquitted for the attempted murder of nine police officers. He was convicted of possession of a weapon. He would also be acquitted of the four murders in the Bronx’s and the murder rap in Manhattan. But he would be convicted of murdering Raymond Vizcaino of the Bronx’s

Larry received 5 to 15 on the weapons charges and another sentence of 25 years to life for the Vizcaino conviction. On Feb 20th 2008, Larry Davis was shanked to death at Shawangunk Correctional Facility in upstate New York.
